Jeroen van Tilborg

Scientist In Ultra-intense Laser Physics

Jeroen van Tilborg is an accomplished physicist with extensive experience in ultra-intense laser physics. Currently serving as the Deputy Director of the BELLA Center at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory since April 2021, Jeroen has been a scientist at the same institution since August 2006, where pioneering efforts in ultra-intense laser systems are a focus. Previous work includes a post-doctoral position in atomic and molecular science, during which research involved the interaction of intense soft X-rays with atoms and molecules, alongside the development of a laser-driven source based on high harmonic generation. Jeroen earned a Ph.D. in Physics from Eindhoven University of Technology in 2006, following a Master’s degree in the same field from the same institution in 2001.
