Li Lei

Li Lei is a prominent figure in the fields of computational biology and bioinformatics, serving as the Founder of GenAIomic Assembly since March 2025, where innovative discussions on Generative AI and Omics are facilitated. Li Lei holds dual roles as a Principal Investigator and Bioinformatics Scientist at both the Joint Genome Institute and Berkeley Lab since May 2019. A seasoned professional, Li Lei has previously held positions at Toastmasters International, the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Kansas State University, and Peking University. Li Lei has an extensive educational background, with multiple PhDs in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, and Population Genetics, Bioinformatics, and Molecular Evolution, as well as a Master Certificate in Bioinformatics and dual Bachelor's degrees in English Language and Literature and Agricultural and Horticultural Plant Breeding.
