Nikit Abhyankar

Nikit Abhyankar is an Associate Adjunct Professor at the University of California, Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy and has been a Scientist at Berkeley Lab since February 2013, specializing in power sector research focused on the integration of renewable energy, policy, regulation, and infrastructure across various countries. Additionally, Nikit serves as Co-Faculty Director at the India Energy & Climate Center and held the position of Senior Scientist at UC Berkeley from January 2020 to January 2025. Previous roles include Graduate Student Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and Graduate Student Researcher at Stanford University, where advanced models were developed to analyze energy markets and infrastructure. Nikit also contributed as a Research Associate at Prayas Energy Group, advocating for consumers and analyzing electricity regulations in India. Education includes a PhD in Environment and Resources from Stanford University and a Master's in Economics from Savitribai Phule Pune University.
