Sebastien Biraud has extensive experience in atmospheric sciences, serving as the Ecosystems Department Head and Staff Research Scientist at Berkeley Lab since August 2003. In roles such as Climate Sciences Department Head and Research Scientist, Biraud has focused on precise measurements of trace gas species and CO2 isotopes and has been the Principal Investigator for the ARM-Carbon project. Prior to this, Biraud was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of California at Berkeley, where research involved modeling atmospheric transport and assessing the impact of climate change on aviation. Earlier experiences include a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Galway, Ireland, focusing on radon-222 efflux and greenhouse gas emissions. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Geochemistry from Université Paris Cité and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Atmospheric Sciences and Meteorology from the National University of Ireland.
