Tomoya Honda is a Principal Investigator and Research Scientist at Berkeley Lab since January 2019, with expertise in synthetic biology and host-microbial interactions. Key contributions include large-scale high-throughput DNA cloning, massively parallel reporter assays, NGS library preparation, genome engineering of non-model bacteria, and statistical analysis of RNA-seq and Amplicon-seq data using Unix and R at NERSC. Prior to this, Tomoya served as a Graduate Research Assistant at UC San Diego from September 2012 to December 2018, conducting doctoral research under the supervision of Professor Terence Hwa, and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Osaka University from April 2011 to August 2012, mentored by Professor Tetsuya Yomo.
