Ximena Natera

Ximena Natera is an accomplished photojournalist currently working at Berkeleyside since June 2022. Previously, Ximena was a visual journalist at Pie de Pagina, an award-winning independent Mexican news organization, from February 2015 to August 2019. During this time, Ximena focused on human rights investigations, reporting on Central American migration and organized crime-related violence while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Ximena holds a certificate in Visual Journalism from the International Center of Photography School and has also completed fellowships in Investigative Journalism and Human Rights at Universidad Iberoamericana and cinematic studies at Centro de Estudios Cinematográficos Indie, along with a journalism degree from Escuela de Periodismo Carlos Septien García.
