Cynthia Bethune has over 30 years of work experience at Berklee College of Music. Starting in 1983, they served as the Assistant to the Dean of Students, where they oversaw the scholarship program, maintained discipline, and planned orientation events. From 1985 to 1988, they worked as the Assistant Director of Development, where they developed a database program, managed a giving group, and obtained a significant grant for the college. In 1998, they became the Director of Special Events, overseeing a staff and planning over 400 events annually. In 2014, they transitioned to the role of Director of Stewardship and Special Events, where they established a stewardship office and organized commencement activities. Currently, Cynthia Bethune is the Senior Director of Special Events and Conference Services, leading a team and overseeing over 650 events, with a focus on inclusivity and diversity.

Cynthia Bethune completed their undergraduate education at the University of New Hampshire, where they received a bachelor's degree. Cynthia later pursued further studies at Boston University, earning a master's degree in Communications/Public Relations.
