Managing Director & Faculty For The Beklee Global Jazz Institute at Berklee College of Music

Marco Pignataro serves as the Managing Director and Faculty for the Berklee Global Jazz Institute at Berklee College of Music since 2009, where the focus is on fostering creativity and musicianship through diverse musical disciplines under the leadership of Artistic Director Danilo Perez. The program emphasizes personalized goal-setting, experiential learning, and business acumen, while also prioritizing environmental awareness and engagement with world-class visiting artists. Previously, Marco was the Director of the Jazz & Caribbean Music Department and Jazz Saxophone Chair at the Conservatorio de Musica de Puerto Rico from August 2001 to May 2009, where significant contributions included developing the jazz saxophone curriculum, co-founding the bachelor’s degree in jazz and Caribbean music studies, and establishing the CMPR Jazz Faculty Ensemble and CMPR Jazz Festival.
