Michael Lau

Michael Lau is an accomplished music industry professional with extensive experience in various roles. Currently serving as the Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of CollectivRights Management, LLC since January 2025, Michael is also a Mentor at the Asian American Collective and an Assistant Professor at Berklee College of Music, where responsibilities include developing a course on Publishing Royalty Administration. With a diverse background, Michael has held advisory and board positions across multiple organizations, including MyPart Inc., Jammber, and New York University. As the owner of Laud Music since 1999, Michael specializes in music supervision, rights clearance, and music publishing. Michael's involvement with the Association Of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP) and The Mechanical Licensing Collective highlights leadership contributions, as does a previous consulting role at Songtradr. Michael holds a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music, emphasizing music business and film scoring.
