Tyson D. Jackson

Tyson D. Jackson is an accomplished artist and educator currently serving as an Artist in Residence at Yale University since March 2023, where development and leadership of workshops on performance and sacred music traditions are key responsibilities. In addition, Tyson is a Voting Committee Member for the NAACP Image Awards with YANGAROO, assessing significant contributions in the arts and entertainment. Throughout a notable career, Tyson has held roles such as Ensemble Director at Berklee College of Music, where guidance and curriculum design for young musicians are emphasized. As the Founder and Drummer of Beyond Measure Music, Tyson leads various musical projects while also managing performances, recording sessions, and events. Previous experience includes Program Manager and Events Coordinator at The Hamilton-Garrett Center of Music & Arts and Regional Coordinator at Jazz Generation. Tyson holds degrees in Professional Music and a Master of Fine Arts in Music Pedagogy, Performance, and Business from Berklee College of Music and the Berklee Global Jazz Institute.
