Jane Sharpe has a comprehensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Starting in 1978, they worked as a Staff Nurse and progressed to become a Nurse Manager of PICU at Saint Francis Hospital. In 1992, they transitioned to Saint Francis Health System as a Risk Manager and eventually became the Director of Risk Management. Their responsibilities included clinical risk management, risk financing, claims management, and serving on the hospital ethics committee. In 2005, they joined Berkley Medical Excess Underwriters as a Sr. Risk Management Consultant and later became the Vice President, Risk Management. Their role involved providing consultation to insured hospitals and health systems on patient safety, risk mitigation, and risk control. In 2020, Jane Sharpe took on the position of Vice President of Risk Management at Berkley Healthcare, where they expanded their responsibilities to include financial lines support in addition to HPL, PPL, and GL.
Jane Sharpe has a diverse education history. Jane earned a bachelor's degree in Nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma, where they studied from 1975 to 1979. Jane later pursued a master's degree in Natural and Applied Sciences (Healthcare Administration) at Oklahoma State University, which they completed from 2005 to 2008.
In addition to their formal education, Jane has obtained several certifications that have enhanced their professional qualifications. In 2000, they earned the CPHRM certification from the AHA Certification Center. In 2005, they obtained the Associate in Risk Management certification from the Insurance Institute of America. Most recently, in 2015, they achieved the Certified Professional in Patient Safety designation from the Certification Board for Professionals in Patient Safety.
