John Scudella

John Scudella has extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on underwriting. John is currently the Vice President of Underwriting at Berkley Healthcare, where they have been since April 2021. Prior to this, they worked as an Underwriting Consulting Director at CNA Insurance from November 2019 to April 2021. Before that, John owned their own consulting firm, JRS Consulting Services, LLC, where they provided underwriting pricing discipline and thought leadership from March 2019 to November 2019.

From 2013 to 2019, John held the position of Sr. VP of Underwriting and Alternative Risk Programs at Medical Mutual Insurance Company of North Carolina. In this role, they developed creative insurance programs and worked with a wide range of physicians.

Before joining Medical Mutual, John worked at CNA Insurance from 2008 to 2013, first as an Underwriting Director and then taking on additional responsibilities such as being a Healthcare Advocate Leader and participating in the Center for Excellence in Hospital business.

Earlier in their career, John was a Regional Vice President at Zurich North America from 2002 to 2008, where they managed a significant premium portfolio and developed successful marketing strategies. John also worked as a Senior Executive Underwriter at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and as a Pricing Analyst at CNA Insurance.

John Scudella began their career as a Consultant at Coopers & Lybrand Consulting from 1992 to 1996.
