Dennis Barger

Dennis Barger is an experienced insurance professional with a career spanning over four decades. Currently serving as retired and chairman at Berkley Southeast Insurance Group since April 2023, Dennis previously held the position of president at the same company from January 2013 to April 2023. Prior roles include senior vice president and chief underwriting officer for commercial lines at Selective Insurance from July 2009 to December 2012, president of field operations east at CNA Insurance from 2001 to 2009, and region executive at both Fireman's Fund Insurance Company and Zurich Insurance between 1990 and 2001. Earlier in their career, Dennis was marketing director at The Hartford Insurance Group from 1980 to 1990. Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature and Business from the University of Cincinnati, earned between 1976 and 1980.
