Jo-Marie St. Martin started their work experience in 1995 as the General Counsel for the U.S. House of Representatives, a role in which they served until 2016. In 2017, they joined W. R. Berkley Corporation as the Vice President of Federal Government Relations. In this position, they opened the Federal Government Relations Office and led the successful advocacy efforts of the Coalition for American Insurance.

Jo-Marie St. Martin holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, with a field of study in Juris Doctor. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Mary Washington, where they majored in Mathematics and Physics. Additionally, Jo-Marie St. Martin has obtained certifications as an Attorney at Law from both the Bar Association of the District of Columbia and the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. Jo-Marie also holds a TS/SCI Security Clearance.
