Chris Deakin

Chris Deakin serves as the Director of Corporate Development at Berkshire Hathaway Energy since June 2019. Previously, Chris operated as a Strategy and Commercialization Advisor for Unico Power and a Strategy Advisor for Field Upgrading, focusing on business plans and strategic growth opportunities. During a lengthy tenure at Cenovus Energy from 2009 to December 2017, Chris held roles including Senior Corporate Development Advisor, where significant mergers and asset divestitures were navigated, and Senior Strategy Advisor, collaborating with the Executive Team on corporate strategies. Chris began the career as a Reservoir/Development Engineer at Cenovus and worked as a Production Engineer at Encana Corporation. Chris holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary and is a Chartered Financial Analyst candidate.
