Sven Behrendt is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in international relations and geopolitics. Currently serving as Managing Director at Geoeconomica since 2011 and as a Senior Advisor at Berlin Global Advisors since November 2022, Behrendt has previously held senior advisory roles at EY from September 2018 to July 2020 and at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace between 2008 and 2010. A former Head of the Mining and Metals Industry Practice at the World Economic Forum, Behrendt also contributed to the organization's Global Risks Programme and served in various capacities related to geopolitics. Behrendt began a career as a Research Fellow at the Bertelsmann Research Group on Political Affairs from 1995 to 2000. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in International Relations and a Master's in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Konstanz, complemented by studies at The London School of Economics and Arabic language training in Damascus.
