Martha Winans Slaughter currently serves as Board Chair and a member of the Board of Trustees at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest, where leadership roles have included Chair of Governance and Trusteeship since October 2017. As the owner of Art Now since November 2010, Martha has maintained a parallel role with the Kentucky Horse Park Foundation since 2010 as a Board Member. Martha's previous experience includes serving as President of the Board of Trustees at the Speed Art Museum until November 2024, Visual Arts Coordinator at Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's HealthCare (2014-2019), and overseeing the Arts and Nature program at Bernheim Arboretum from 2011 to 2017. Earlier positions include Executive Director roles at Northern Clay Center and Evanston Art Center, and Director and Curator at Herron Gallery, IUPUI. Martha's educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Art History from UC Irvine and further studies at institutions such as the Whitney Museum of American Art and the University of San Diego.

Connecting People with Nature Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest is a privately funded 16,140-acre forest in Clermont, KY. We feature 40+ miles of hiking trails, the world-renowned Forest Giants in a Giant Forest art installation, newly opened 10-acred play area, Playcosystem, a fishing lake, bike trails, a LEED Platinum certified Visitor Center and many other beautiful ways to connect with nature. We are open daily 7 a.m. to sunset. Closed January 1, Thanksgiving Day, and December 25.
