Andreas Lauer

Andreas Lauer has an extensive career in ophthalmology, currently serving as the Director and the Margaret Thiele-Petti & August Petti Endowed Chair at OHSU Casey Eye Institute since July 2001. Lauer holds multiple leadership positions, including Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology, Head of the Vitreoretinal Division, Kenneth C. Swan Endowed Professor of Ophthalmology, and Vice Chair of Education. Additionally, Lauer plays vital roles in residency training and fellowship programs, and has been a faculty member at Oregon Health & Science University since 1995. Involvement extends to national and international organizations, with contributions to the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, among others. Lauer's educational background includes an MD from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and a BA from the University of Rochester.
