Melvin Takam

Melvin Takam has extensive work experience in engineering and facility management. Melvin is currently the Chief Engineer at Bernstein Management Corporation, where they supervise and manages a team of engineers and maintenance staff. Melvin'sresponsibilities include operational management, leadership, and administration of the engineering team. Melvin ensures compliance with standard operating procedures and protects the value of the client's assets.

Prior to joining Bernstein Management Corporation, Melvin was the Chief Engineer at JLL from 2016 to 2022, where they were responsible for planning and executing major projects, developing maintenance plans, and ensuring safety compliance. Melvin also served as an Assistant Chief Engineer at JLL from 2015 to 2016.

Before JLL, Melvin worked at Vornado Realty Trust as an Apprentice Engineer/Operating Engineer. In this role, they managed the engineering team, operated building automation systems, oversaw contractors, and performed preventive maintenance on various equipment. Melvin also conducted inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems.

In addition to their corporate experience, Melvin owned and operated their own business called Dropbyme.

Melvin Takam completed their education at Montgomery College from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained an Associate's degree in Building Construction Technology. Before attending Montgomery College, Melvin Takam graduated from Paint Branch High School in 2006, earning their Highschool Diploma. In addition to their formal education, Melvin Takam has obtained additional certifications, including a 3rd Class Engineer certification from Stationary Engineer, a CFC Universal certification, and a LEED Green Associate certification from the USGBC - National Capital Region Chapter.
