Robert Thio

Robert Thio has extensive experience in the shipping and insurance sectors, currently serving as Chief Executive at Besso (Asia Pacific) Ltd since January 2007, with additional roles as Director and General Manager. Prior to this, Robert held the position of Marketing Manager at the London P & I Club in Hong Kong from September 1990 to August 2005 and worked as Legal Manager at Clyde & Co's Hong Kong office from August 1989 to October 1990, focusing on case handling and business development. Between January 1981 and August 1989, Robert was the Chairman of the Singapore Shipping Association, managing bilateral agreements and trade regulations with the Indonesian National Shipowners Association. Earlier in Robert's career, from January 1976 to August 1989, critical responsibilities included shipping, claims, and insurance management at Guan Guan Shipping (Pte) Ltd.
