Kirk Jensen has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Kirk started their career as a Member of the American College of Emergency Physicians in 1981 and went on to work as an Expert Panel Member and Site Examiner for Urgent Matters from 2003 to 2005. Kirk also served as the Medical Director for Studer Group from 2008 to 2018. Jensen held executive positions at EmCare as the Executive Vice President from 2012 to 2015 and as the Chief Innovation Officer at Envision Healthcare starting in 2015. Kirk has also worked as a Clinical Operations Advisor for Impathiq and as an Advisor for Patient Flow at Potentia Analytics, both in 2020. In addition, Jensen has had key leadership roles such as the President and CEO of Healthcare Management Strategies, LLC since 2010 and as a Faculty and Clinical Advisor for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement since 1998. Kirk has been involved in various areas such as developing operational and coaching models, partnering with consulting groups to improve client services, and improving quality, safety, and patient flow. Jensen has also chaired and developed programs for healthcare improvement and patient flow in acute care settings.
Kirk Jensen completed their MBA at the Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee from 2003 to 2004. Kirk then pursued a degree in Emergency Medicine through the MD program at the University of Chicago. Prior to that, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Kirk Jensen's undergraduate education consists of a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology, earned at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
