Mentru Nagbe has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Starting in 2012, they worked as a Student Advancement Coordinator at St. Augustine School, where they assisted in classrooms as a substitute, supervised lunch and recess, and participated in meetings and community service projects. This role also involved recruiting and planning service opportunities for older students. In the same year, Mentru also served as a Student Advancement Coordinator with the Augustinian Volunteers, partnering with the Augustinian Order and other organizations to serve educational, social, and health programs.

In 2013, Mentru joined City Year as a Diplomas Now Corps Member/Math Coordinator, working at E.W Rhodes Elementary in North Philadelphia. They served as an AmeriCorps member, supporting students experiencing difficulties in Math and English classes, poor behavior, and low attendance.

In 2016, Mentru worked as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist while also teaching with Educators On Call. They then transitioned to become the Manager of Data and Analytics at Philadelphia VIP in 2017, where they focused on data management and analysis.

Mentru's most recent role is as the Director of Data, Information, and Technology at Bet Tzedek Legal Services starting in November 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Database Manager at the same organization from August 2019 to October 2022.
