Perry Smith

As Executive Vice President, Pat Smith oversees the operations, construction management and project execution teams for Beta’s three product families and helps identify ways to improve Beta’s performance and efficiency. His goal is to make Beta competitive in the marketplace and remove barriers that hinder Beta from helping its customers.

Pat has been working in the high voltage industry since 1997 and has extensive experience in the engineering, fabrication and business side of the industry. After starting with a Beta services group in 1997, Pat transferred to one of Beta’s sister companies, where he worked as a civil engineer, project engineer, estimating manager, quality assurance/quality control manager, Vice President of Estimating and Quality Control for 14 years and Vice President of Business Operations for three years. Pat transitioned to Beta in 2018 as Vice President of Operations and became Executive Vice President of Business Operations in 2019.

Turning challenges into success is a Beta core value that is particularly meaningful to Pat because he says he enjoys seeing “the personal growth and team growth that happens as a result of overcoming something difficult together.” Pat also loves the challenge of learning new business methodologies, finding opportunities for continuous improvement and experiencing the moments when others begin to see the impacts process improvements can have on business.

Pat has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University and is a licensed professional engineer of civil engineering, registered in six states.
