Ursuline Sookhoo, COSC has extensive experience in the field of practice management. Ursuline began their career in 1994 as an Office Administrator at Tampa Bay Medical Center, where they were responsible for billing and collections, credentialing, payroll, accounts payable, and supervision of office staff. In 1995, they moved to Bay Area Pulmonary Associates as Office Administrator, where they negotiated managed care and PPO contracts, oversaw credentialing, billing, accounts payable, hiring, training, and supervision of staff. In 2002, they became a Practice Management Consultant while self-employed. From 2003 to 2010, they were Practice Administrator at Brandon Orthopedic Associates, where they maintained a busy four physician Orthopedic Practice, and brought all billing that had previously been outsourced in-house. From 2010 to 2015, they served as Practice Administrator at Valdosta Orthopedic Associates, VOA Ambulatory Surgery Center, VOA Spine Center, North Crossing Rehabilitation Center, Open MRI of Valdosta, and VOA After Hours Urgent Care Clinic. In 2015, they became Director of Business Operations at Beth Ingram Therapy Services, where they were responsible for the day to day operation of the Business Office, including but not limited to negotiating insurance contracts, supervising the Billing, A/R and authorization/referral department, acting as a liaison between the USF Early Steps program and BIA, and handling the school contracts for Hillsborough, Pinellas and Polk counties.
Ursuline Sookhoo attended Hunter College from 1979 to 1981, studying Accounting. Ursuline then obtained their COSC certification from AAPC in April 2015.
