Caleb Hale MD SFHM serves as the Associate Chief of Hospital Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center since July 2007, overseeing daily operations and management of around 70 attending physicians in a major Harvard-affiliated teaching hospital. Responsibilities include managing an average daily census of 230 patients, directing the operations of the East Campus Inpatient Medicine with a focus on high-quality care, and supervising the education of Internal Medicine residents and students. As an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Caleb Hale also plays a key role in mentoring medical students, interns, and residents. Additional contributions include leading the Inpatient Medical Surgical Section of Hospital Incident Command during the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating operational planning and care policy dissemination.
