Dr. Tawnya Brown

Dr. Tawnya Brown, LCSW-C, LICSW has a diverse and extensive work experience in various leadership roles in social services organizations. Dr. Tawnya currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Organizational Strategy at Bethany Christian Services, where they provide direction and strategy for business development initiatives while maintaining and promoting the organization's mission. Prior to this, Dr. Brown held roles such as the Senior Vice President of Global Refugee & Immigrant Services, Vice President of National Refugee & Immigrant Family Services, and Vice President of Regional Operations and National Dev. Director of Refugee and Immigrant programs at Bethany Christian Services. Dr. Tawnya has also served as the Regional Director at the Institute for Family Centered Services and as an Adoptions and Permanency Specialist at the Alexandria Department of Social Services. Throughout their career, Dr. Brown has focused on improving support and services for vulnerable populations, particularly children and families.

Dr. Tawnya Brown, LCSW-C, LICSW has a diverse education history. Dr. Tawnya obtained their Doctor of Business Administration degree in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University between 2020 and 2022. In 1997 to 1999, they pursued a Master's degree in Social Work with a specialization in Direct Service Social Work for children and families at Howard University. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1996, they studied Child Psychology and Elementary Education with a concentration in guidance counseling at Mount St. Mary's University.
