Kideste Yusef

Associate Dean Of Research

Kideste Yusef, Ph.D., currently serves as the Associate Dean of Research at Bethune-Cookman University, a role that will commence in Fall 2024 while continuing as the Director of the Center for Law and Social Justice and a tenured Associate Professor in Criminal Justice. With extensive experience in academia, Yusef previously held various positions, including Department Chair and Associate Professor, and has worked as a National Consultant and Trainer at KMY Research and Consulting. Yusef's research leadership is exemplified through the role as Research Director and National Coordinator for the "I Fear For My Life" Federal Initiative under the 400 Years of African American History Commission. Educationally, Yusef earned a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from John Jay College (CUNY) and holds multiple degrees in criminal justice, sociology, and African American studies from Old Dominion University and John Jay College.
