Penny Joel

Penny (Penina) Joel is an experienced educational coach currently working at BetterLesson since May 2022. Previously, Penny served as a researcher at the Jewish Theological Seminary's Davidson School of Education, where data was gathered for a project focused on race, equity, and privilege in Jewish Day Schools. Penny's extensive background includes roles such as Director of Professional Development and Educator at JETS Israel, Director of Experiential Jewish Education at the Pardes Institute, and various educator positions at Young Judaea and Lookstein Virtual Jewish Academy. Penny has directed fellowship programs for Jewish teenagers and mentored participants in Yeshiva University's Experiential Jewish Education Certificate Program. Academic qualifications include a Doctor of Education in Jewish Education & Administration from Yeshiva University, a Master’s degree in Early Adolescent Education from Bank Street College of Education, and a Bachelor’s degree in Jewish/Judaic Studies from Yeshiva University.
