Rebecca Thayil

Rebecca Thayil is a Lead Software Engineer at Betterment since December 2021, with previous experience as a Software Engineer at goPuff and as an Artificial Intelligence Technical Lead at Vanguard. At Vanguard, Rebecca led the Artificial Intelligence team, which focused on developing and productionalizing machine learning models for personalized financial advice. Additional roles include Software Developer and Artificial Intelligence Engineer, managing critical financial messaging infrastructure and conducting security and compliance reviews. Rebecca also served as a Teaching Assistant at Bryn Mawr College, where support was provided to students in quantitative courses, and conducted undergraduate research in high-performance computing and atomic physics. Rebecca holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics with minors in Computer Science and Mathematics from Bryn Mawr College.
