Leya Simmons

Leya Simmons has a long and varied work experience. Leya began their career in 2001 as the Owner and President of Oswald Gallery, where they founded a fine art photography gallery and was solely responsible for all communication with artists and clients. In the same year, they were also an ArtBuffs founding member at the Jack S. Blanton Museum of Art. In 2011, they became a Consultant and Table Liaison for Be One Texas, as well as a Communications Consultant for Art Alliance Austin. In 2014, they took on the role of President for Community Yoga Austin. In 2016, they became the Executive Director of Anthropos Arts. In 2017, they became the Co-Founder, CEO of BetterUnite, a cloud-based software solution for nonprofit fundraising, and the Director of Advancement at University High School.

Leya Simmons attended The University of Texas at Austin from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government and French. Leya then attended the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1998 for graduate work in Art Leya'story. In 2015, Simmons obtained a Registered Yoga Teacher certification from Yoga Alliance.
