Julius Simonelli

Julius Simonelli is the Director of Machine Learning at Betterview. Prior to joining Betterview, they were a Senior Computer Vision Scientist at Orbital Insight, where they specialized in computer vision on satellite imagery and object detection. Julius has also worked for the US government and as a student researcher at Cornell University Laboratory for Elementary Particle Physics.

Simonelli has extensive experience in deep learning and has conducted research on the use of synthetic data for training object detection algorithms. Julius has also generated new business with government customers and written technical proposals for government contracts. In addition to their work in the private and public sectors, Simonelli has also been active in recruiting, interviewing, and mentoring new hires.

Julius Simonelli received a Bachelor of Science in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University.
