Thomas van Ophem attended the Stedelijk Dalton College Alkmaar from 2004 to 2010, where they obtained their VWO degree in the field of Natuur en Techniek. Following that, from 2010 to 2015, they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Informatica at the University of Amsterdam. Apart from their formal education, Thomas also obtained various certifications. In April 2015, they received the Horeca Portier certification from SVH (Stichting Vakbekwaamheid Horeca). Thomas further expanded their certifications in the field of diving. In July 2019, Thomas became a Divemaster (DM), and in August 2019, they achieved the Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) Leader certification, both from PADI. Continuing their diving education, Thomas acquired additional certifications from PADI in 2022. In August 2022, they became an Emergency First Response (EFR) Instructor and also obtained the Care for Children w/AED Instructor certification. In November 2022, Thomas completed the Assistant Instructor (AI) certification from PADI.
