Haley McDonald

Haley McDonald has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Haley worked as a Software QA at Beyond Pulse starting in 2022. In the same year, Haley also served as the Lead Trainer and Owner of Lights Out Elite Training, a basketball training company focused on inclusivity and skill development. Haley was a Retail Wine Server at Blomidon Estate Winery in 2021. From 2019 to 2022, Haley worked as an Assistant Program Director at 180 Shooting Club, where they helped create an inclusive basketball program and served as a positive female role model. Haley played professional basketball as a member of HTG Bad Homburg - Falcons from January 2021 to May 2021. Haley also held multiple roles at Acadia University from 2016 to 2021, including Honours Student, Undergraduate Research Assistant, Independent Study Student, and Teaching Assistant. Additionally, Haley worked as an Emergency Support Aide/ Site Screener at Nova Scotia Health Authority in 2020. In 2018, they served as a Food and Beverage Server at Gaspereau Vineyards, providing customer service and facilitating wine selection. Lastly, Haley worked as a Retail Associate and Selection Advisor at Sea Level Brewing Company in 2017, where they assisted customers with product information and performed various retail tasks.

Haley McDonald attended Acadia University from 2016 to 2020, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology. Following that, they pursued an Honours Conversion program in Kinesiology and Exercise Science at Acadia University from 2020 to 2021. Haley then returned to Acadia University in 2022 to pursue a Master of Arts degree in Sociology with a focus on Women in Sport, which they are expected to complete in 2023.

In addition to their academic pursuits, Haley McDonald obtained several certifications. In May 2021, they acquired the Nova Scotia Food Handlers certificate from the Canadian Food Safety Training. Haley also obtained the Standard First Aid, CPR, and AED certification from St. John Ambulance Canada | Ambulance Saint-Jean in July 2017.
