Tara Brown is a seasoned film programmer with extensive experience in the film and arts sectors. Currently serving as the We Crip Film - Festival Programmer at the British Film Institute since June 2023, Tara is dedicated to promoting disabled filmmaking during Disability Pride Month. Additional roles include serving as Assistant Programme Advisor for Black and Global Majority at Sheffield DocFest and Programme Adviser at Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest since February 2018. Tara has also contributed to MIX COPENHAGEN's 2025 LGBTQ+ Film Festival as a jury member, and has held programming positions at the London Indian Film Festival and the Bernie Grant Arts Centre, focusing on supporting Black artists and marginalized communities. With a degree in Philosophy and Politics from The University of Manchester, Tara's diverse expertise spans creative evaluation, event programming, and advocacy for authentic representation in film.
