Manfred Young is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in research and development, technical support, and business development within the textiles and manufacturing sectors. Currently serving as an Executive Board Member and Vice President of R&D and Technical Support for the Americas at BGF Industries, Inc. since December 2019, Manfred has held various leadership roles throughout a career that began with a co-op position at the Drug Enforcement Administration in 1986. Manfred's previous positions include Director Military Business at Burlington Fabrics and multiple roles at Nano-Tex, Inc. Manfred holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Virginia Tech, an MBA from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, and a certification from the Sandoz Color School in Textiles Wet Processing. Additionally, Manfred has contributed to academia as a board member for Consumer Apparel Retail Studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
