Haichen Zhang

Haichen Zhang is a researcher at BGI Genomics since August 2022, with prior experience as a postdoctoral fellow at Peking Union Medical College Hospital from June 2021 to August 2022. Haichen Zhang completed a Ph.D. in Human/Medical Genetics at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where involvement included roles as a graduate research assistant from June 2015 to June 2021. Additional experience includes work as an assistant researcher at The George Washington University from December 2013 to May 2015 and an internship focusing on shRNA construction at the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, from September 2012 to April 2013. Haichen Zhang holds a Master of Science in Bioinformatics from The George Washington University and dual bachelor's degrees in Biology and English from China Agricultural University. Professional expertise includes sequencing, NGS data analysis, and biocuration for initiatives such as the Personalized Diabetes Medicine Program and the ClinGen Monogenic Diabetes Expert Panel.
