Jim Varden

A-10 Subject Matter Expert, Simulator Instructor at BGI

Jim Varden is an experienced aviation professional with a strong background in military operations and education. Currently serving as the A-10 Subject Matter Expert and Simulator Instructor at BGI, LLC since October 2014, Jim specializes in medium and low altitude close air support, night operations, and contested/degraded operations training. Prior roles include Co-Pilot at XOJET and Deputy Commander/A-10 Instructor Pilot at the 355th Mission Support Group, where Jim managed considerable personnel and budgetary responsibilities. Additional experience includes serving as a special projects manager for the 355th Fighter Wing, leading readiness initiatives as Inspector General, and directing staff operations at the 51st Fighter Wing. Jim Varden holds a Master of Science in Irregular Warfare from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Arizona.
