Senior Systems Engineer at BGI

Mikhail Belibasis has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Mikhail began their career as a Student Research Assistant at the College of Environmental Engineering in 2015. In 2016, they served as a Structures Liaison for CanSat, where they designed and launched a small science vehicle.

In 2017, Mikhail worked as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, focusing on the design of the 105mm gun for AC-130s. Mikhail conducted engineering analyses and received training in composites design. Mikhail also worked as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the Dynamics and Controls Systems Design Lab, assisting in lab set-ups and grading exams.

During their time at the University of Florida IPPD in 2017, Mikhail was part of a Capstone project team working for CAE USA. Mikhail used computational fluid dynamics to analyze flow field velocities and implemented a turbulence model for flight simulation.

From 2018 to 2021, Mikhail worked as an Aerospace/Software Engineer at CAE USA INC. Their responsibilities included updating aerodynamics software models, debugging models and simulator entry-point schedulers, and validating software through automated tests.

In 2021, Mikhail joined Lockheed Martin as a Software Engineer, where they worked until 2023. Mikhail then transitioned to BGI, LLC as a Senior Systems Engineer.

Throughout their career, Mikhail has demonstrated strong technical skills in programming languages such as C, C++, Fortran, and Ada. Mikhail has extensive experience in software development, aerodynamics, control systems, and mechanical design.

Mikhail Belibasis pursued their education from 2013 to 2018, studying at the University of Florida. During this time, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. In addition to their major, they also obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, both from the University of Florida.
