Bernie Applebaum

Bernie Applebaum serves as the Senior Director of Major Capital Projects at BGIS, where responsibilities include overseeing the pre-planning phase of a $2 billion federal project in Gatineau, particularly one with significant heritage considerations. In addition to this role, Bernie has been the President of BDA Real Estate Development Services Inc. since 1992, specializing in turnkey project delivery for public and private sector clients, including multiple headquarters projects. Previous positions include Manager of Business Development and Construction Manager at EllisDon, a Commercial Real Estate Developer at Campeau Corporation, and Resident Site Engineer at J.L. Richards & Associates Limited, responsible for major projects such as aircraft hangar developments. Early career experience includes serving as a Structural Engineer and Project Manager at SNC, focusing on diverse sectors including petrochemical and nuclear power. Bernie holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil from McGill University, obtained in 1978.
