Peter Zmolek

Peter Zmolek, Ph.D., serves as the Director of R&D Mineral Development at BHE Renewables, specializing in direct lithium extraction technology since January 2023. Previously, Peter held multiple leadership roles at Continental from July 2004 to March 2022, including Director of Material Technology Solutions, where leadership of over 30 team members facilitated the development of innovative raw material solutions for next-generation products. Peter's extensive experience encompasses overseeing teams of chemists and engineers, managing passenger car R&D in the Americas, and executing customer-focused tire design projects. Peter's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Inorganic Chemistry from UC San Diego, along with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Oregon.
