Vanessa Calayan

Vanessa Calayan is a recent graduate in Mining and Mineral Processing Engineering from the University of British Columbia, where they also pursued a degree in Earth and Ocean Sciences with a focus on Geology. Vanessa has extensive experience in the resource industry, having worked as a Metallurgical Intern at Sodirec S.A. and as a Process Engineer in Training at PotashCorp, followed by a role as a Process EIT at Nutrien. Currently, they serve as a Principal Process Engineer in Surface Production at BHP, aiming to enhance their skills and knowledge in mineral processing and engineering. Vanessa has also contributed to environmental initiatives, organizing meetings to address mercury pollution in collaboration with international authorities.
