Rodrigo Mier Hicks has over 10 years of work experience in engineering and related fields. Rodrigo began their career in 2010 as a Manufacturing Engineering Intern at Nemak. In 2011, they were the GE's Lean Challenge '11 Winner, where they worked with two other engineering students from their college and competed against another university team in improving a production line. In 2012, they were a Mechanical Design Intern at Wind worXs and an Industrial Engineering Intern at PROLEC GE. In 2013, they worked as a Finite Element Analyst at John Deere, performing linear & non-linear static structural analysis of large product assemblies and parts. In 2014, they were a Graduate Research Assistant at USC M.C. Gill Composites Center, where they worked on damage modelling and mechanical properties approximation for multiple quasi-isotropic composite material architectures. In 2015, they were a Composites Development Internship at Coast Composites, where they worked in the R&D lab and designed and manufactured a jig to facilitate router cutting operations on composite plates. Since 2016, they have been working at Bi-Search Int'l, Inc. (BSI) as the Director of Engineering, Engineering Department Manager, and Mechanical Project Manager.
Rodrigo Mier Hicks obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Mechanical Engineering from Tecnológico de Monterrey between 2008 and 2012. Rodrigo then went on to obtain a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Southern California between 2014 and 2015. In December 2012, they obtained a Six Sigma Green Belt from Arizona State University.
