Juan José Angulo

Juan José Angulo has had a long and varied career in law and policy. Juan José began their career in 2008 as an Investigator and Junior Lawyer at Alberto Preciado & Asociados, where they did research in civil, commercial, family, and administrative law, as well as acted as a litigation junior lawyer in various jurisdictions and practice areas. In 2009, they worked as a Consultant at the Departamento Nacional de Planeación and as a Lawyer at De la Calle, Londoño y Posada Abogados. Juan José then worked as an Associate at Holguin Neira & Pombo in 2011, and at Philippi Prietocarrizosa & Uría in 2012, where they provided regulatory, contractual, and environmental legal advice for structuring, developing, and operating electric energy, hydrocarbons, renewables, mining, and infrastructure projects. In 2018, they became President of the Board of Directors at Ser Colombia. In 2020, they became the Director of Transición Energética at AlCentro, and in 2022, they joined BIA as VP of Policy & Regulatory Affairs and Founding Team. Juan José is also a founding partner at Angulo Martínez & Abogados, where they provide advice to national and international companies on multiple energy projects in Colombia.

Juan José Angulo began their educational journey in 2004, when they enrolled in Universidad del Rosario to pursue a degree in Legal Studies, General. Juan José graduated in 2009 with the degree of Abogado. After graduating, they continued their studies at Universidad del Rosario, obtaining a Magíster en Derecho Administrativo in Administrative Law in 2012. In 2021, Juan José began pursuing a Master of Laws - LLM in Environmental Law & Policy (ELP) at Stanford University, which they are expected to complete in 2022.
