Mark Frigerio

Mark Frigerio has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Starting in 2002, they worked at KuDOS Pharmaceuticals, where they served as a Senior Scientist and later became the Team Leader in Chemistry. In this role, they managed internal medicinal chemistry programs and led a team of chemistry graduates. Mark also collaborated with biologists and molecular modellers to design, synthesize, and screen novel compounds for cancer treatment.

In 2007, Mark worked as a Consultant at Gleam Services, followed by their position as Medicinal Chemistry Team Leader at Pharminox from 2009 to 2012. During this time, they focused on the conception, design, and synthesis of small molecule drug candidates. Mark also played a role in targeting non-canonical forms of DNA for apoptotic cell signaling.

From 2012 to 2016, Mark held various roles at PolyTherics Limited, including Head of Synthetic Chemistry and Bioconjugation, and later as Head of Synthetic and Analytical Chemistry. In these positions, they managed scientific teams, designed and analyzed reagents, and oversaw research programs and external collaborations.

From 2016 to 2022, Mark joined Abzena, where they held multiple leadership positions, including Director of Project Management (Chemistry) and VP Design & Development. Mark was responsible for project management, resource planning, and business development for bioconjugate and biologics drug development projects.

Currently, Mark serves as the VP of Chemistry at Bicycle Therapeutics, starting in 2022.

Mark Frigerio has a strong education history, primarily focusing on the fields of Chemistry and Business Administration and Management. Mark obtained their MSci degree in Chemistry from UCL, where they studied from 1995 to 1999. Subsequently, they pursued a higher level of education and completed their PhD in Chemistry at UCL from 1999 to 2002. More recently, Mark attended the Cambridge Judge Business School from 2019 to 2021, where they earned their Executive MBA with a specialization in Business Administration and Management.
