Samreen Islam

Product Manager at Bidgely

Samreen Islam has a diverse work experience starting from 2016. Samreen worked as a Research Assistant at the Electrical Engineering Department of the University of Virginia from September 2016 to September 2017.

In 2015, Samreen became the President of the Mechatronics and Robotics Society (MARS) at UVA. Samreen managed and delegated tasks to members for funding, budget allocation, sponsorship, events, and design decisions. Samreen also led an interdisciplinary team in building a mining robot for Mars for the annual NASA Robotic Mining Competition. Additionally, they brainstormed, prototyped, and designed CAD models for mechanisms such as auger lifting and screw propulsion.

As a Co-Founder of Purif-I, Samreen worked from October 2016 to May 2018.

Samreen joined Venture for America as a 2018 Fellow in July 2018 and served until June 2020.

From August 2018 to September 2020, Samreen worked as a Product and Community Manager at MATRIX_Labs.

Currently, Samreen is working at Bidgely as a Product Manager, starting in September 2020 (month and year of end date not specified).

Samreen Islam attended Sunbeams School from 2001 to 2014 where they completed their High School/Secondary Diplomas and Certificates. Following that, from 2014 to 2018, they enrolled at the University of Virginia and earned a Bachelor's degree. Samreen'smajor was Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science and Design Integration.
