Carolina Escobar

Carolina Escobar is the Director of UI/UX at Bidtellect. Carolina has over 20 years of experience in the software development industry. Carolina started their career as an Oracle Developer and has since held various positions including Lead Developer and Senior Oracle Developer.

In their current role, Carolina is responsible for designing and coding a modern responsive widget based web application for data integration and exploration. Carolina introduced UI design best practices and applied UX principles to design user flows and wireframes. The web application is built with AngularJS, Bootstrap, and RESTful web APIs.

Prior to joining Bidtellect, Carolina was a Lead Developer at the South Florida Water Management District. In this role, they were responsible for researching, evaluating, and prototyping multiple reporting BI tools to find a replacement for Oracle Discoverer. This effort resulted in the adoption of Jaspersoft as the new enterprise BI solution. Carolina also coded enhancements and bug fixes for multiple District in-house applications.

Before their time at the South Florida Water Management District, Carolina was a Senior Oracle Developer at Alfa GL Inc and Oracle Developer at Alfa GL Ltda.

Carolina holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.

Carolina Escobar has a Master's in Fine Arts from Florida Atlantic University and a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana.
