Akiva Cohen serves as the National Supply Chain Optimization Manager at Bidvest Waltons since February 2020, previously holding roles as a Supply Chain Specialist and System Administrator (WMS). Prior experiences include internships at SCE Engineering, where contributions involved designing staircases and platforms for improved accessibility at Engen Waltoo, as well as developing a fire suppression system for LPG storage tanks. Akiva also interned at The Airplane Factory, focusing on creating assembly manual drawings for aircraft. Akiva holds an MSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand and a diploma in Talmudic Studies, along with a National Senior Certificate from Hirsch Lyons Boys High School.

Waltons Stationery was opened by Mr Norman Walton as a humble family store in Cape Town in 1949 with the goal of bringing Capetonians a previously unseen range of high quality stationery and work tools. Mr Walton's emphasis on innovative, high-quality product ranges and excellent customer service - the kind that you can only find in a family-owned business - formed the bedrock of what would become an iconic brand in Cape Town and South Africa as a whole. In 1997 - after years of substantial growth and a JSE Listing - Bidvest acquired Waltons and its subsidiaries where it forms part of the Bidvest Brands umbrella as Bidvest Waltons. So much has changed since Mr Walton opened his store in 1949 - the World has changed - but one thing is for certain.
