Steve Hiben

Steve Hiben is an experienced lighting professional with a strong background in theater design and technical production. Currently serving as a follow spot operator and climbing electrician with Big Apple Circus since July 2014, Steve handles follow spot operations and maintains production lighting equipment. Steve's freelance experience as a stagehand began in June 2011, complemented by a role as event staff with Ravenswood Event Services in mid-2014. Previous roles include a summer internship at The Chicago Flyhouse in 2013, head electrician at Calvin Theatre Company from 2008 to 2011, light board operator and electrician at Mason Street Warehouse in 2010, and lighting technician for Calvin OCCE from 2007 to 2009. Steve holds a Bachelor's degree in theater design with a focus on lighting from Columbia College Chicago and a degree in Theatre, Lighting Design, and Technical Theatre from Calvin University.
