Alison Avera

Alison Avera has a diverse background in the education and nonprofit sectors. Alison is currently working as the Chief Agency Growth Officer at Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, where they focus on enhancing efficiency and growth across the organization. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Strategy and Operations Officer at Teach Plus, leading the organization's transformation and driving increased revenue and impact. Alison has also held leadership roles at Turnaround for Children, Newark Public Schools, NYC Department of Education, The Broad Center, Teach For America, and Girl Scouts of Eastern Pennsylvania. Their experience includes overseeing operations, developing and implementing strategic plans, and managing teams to achieve organizational goals.

Alison Avera began their education in 1991 at Tulane University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in History. Alison successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 1995. Following this, they enrolled at Harvard Business School in 2003 to further enhance their skills and knowledge in General Management. Alison completed the MBA program at Harvard Business School in 2005, effectively concluding their formal education.
