Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks’ mission is to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever. Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks (BBBSO) operates under the belief that, inherent in every child, is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Locally and nationwide, Big Brothers Big Sisters is the largest donor and volunteer supported one-to-one mentoring network. BBBSO makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (Bigs) and children (Littles) between the ages of 6-14. The majority of children served by BBBSO are from single-parent families, low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. Statistically, these children are more likely to experience crises that include child abuse and neglect, domestic violence, and alcohol or drug abuse.
